What is Qlik MCP, and what is RaptorMCP?
Using Qlik with an AI agent
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI agent connect to external tools and data through an MCP server. "Qlik MCP" describes connecting an AI agent to Qlik this way, so the agent can read permitted Qlik context and, where authorised, carry out Qlik tasks instead of only answering from general knowledge.
RaptorMCP, provided by Modern Management, is a governed MCP Gateway for Qlik covering enterprise knowledge, AI-assisted engineering, insights, writeback and workflows, migration and managed delivery. It connects each user's chosen AI agent to permitted Qlik context and a central enterprise Qlik AI knowledge base, across Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows (QSEoW, also called Qlik Sense Client-Managed).
Slide 2: What RaptorMCP helps with
- Qlik Engineering
- Assist with Qlik scripting, app structure, model review, expressions and visualizations within governed development workflows.
- Migration & Modernization
- Support QlikView, Qlik Sense, Qlik Cloud and BI modernization through structured review, planning and assisted execution.
- Managed Delivery
- Support repeatable customer delivery, advisory workflows, environment review, improvement planning and partner-led execution.
- Governance & Review
- Keep human review, data access, permissions, production validation and auditability in the workflow.
See every capability in detail on the capabilities page.
Slide 3: Gateway access
RaptorMCP is provisioned through governed gateway access. Access is controlled through approved gateway configuration, licensed users, assigned seats and customer permissions.
- Customer-hosted gateway
- For customers with approved on-premises or customer-controlled infrastructure. For governed Qlik Client-Managed delivery and private access patterns.
- Modern Management hosted
- For customers without on-premises servers. Modern Management hosts the gateway while customer Qlik permissions, licensing and governance remain controlled by the customer.
- Partner-led activation
- Approved partners can introduce customers, support demos, guide readiness and route opportunities through the Raptor service portal.
Slide 4: Architecture, five layers in one governed flow
- User / Team: Business user, Qlik developer, Partner consultant, Administrator.
- AI Client / Workspace: Approved AI client or IDE, Customer-selected LLM, User instruction and review.
- RaptorMCP Gateway: Customer-hosted OR MM-hosted, Licensed access, Policy boundary, Audit and usage visibility.
- Qlik Environment: Qlik Client-Managed, Qlik Cloud, Scripts, models, reloads, sheets.
- Governance / Evidence: Human approval, Customer permissions, Production validation, Audit evidence.
Deployment details are in the technical perspective.
Slide 5: What you need before activation
- Active Qlik environment or Qlik licensing route
- Approved gateway access model
- Authorised Qlik users and permissions
- Customer or partner implementation owner
- License portal registration and license terms acceptance.
- Production validation by qualified Qlik teams/professionals.
RaptorMCP does not replace Qlik licensing, customer security controls, production validation or professional judgement.
Slide 6: Who is Modern Management?

- Partner-first growth
- Supports customer and partner routes through discovery, demos, gateway access, referral routing and governed service delivery.
- AI-assisted engineering
- Focused on applying AI to improve delivery throughput, governance, review and repeatable engineering workflows.
- Qlik delivery experience
- Practical experience across Qlik development, modernization, customer environments and managed delivery.
Slide 7: RaptorMCP and Ebiexperts Active Backup
Active Backup protects and restores Qlik apps and components, while RaptorMCP assists with review, modernisation and governed engineering actions.
- Qlik environment: Qlik apps, scripts, sheets, reloads and models.
- Ebiexperts Active Backup: continuous backup, full app restore, component restore and recovery evidence.
- RaptorMCP Gateway: AI-assisted engineering, review and modernisation, migration support and human-approved actions.
- Governed outcome: safer modernisation, recovery-aware engineering, better migration planning, reduced operational risk and approved production changes.
Flow: Qlik, then Active Backup, then RaptorMCP review, then human approval, then governed deployment.
Slide 8: New to Qlik?
Need Qlik Cloud or on-premises Qlik licensing before using RaptorMCP? We can route you to an approved local partner who can guide Qlik licensing, gateway readiness, migration and managed delivery options.
- I need Qlik Cloud
- Get routed to a partner who can guide Qlik Cloud licensing, tenant readiness and RaptorMCP gateway planning.
- I need Qlik on-premises
- Get routed to a partner who can guide Qlik Client-Managed licensing, server readiness and governed gateway planning.
- I already have Qlik
- Continue to RaptorMCP access, migration, modernization, managed services or a discovery session.
